Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble

Saturday, September 10th – 8pm, $20

Zydeco dance lesson 7pm with Cat Christ & Sean Donovan, free with entry.

It’s always a huge party when Curley comes to town, with massive rhythms for driving dancers wild and joyful energy through the roof! Nobody does that powerful, soulful zydeco and blues better, and this band delivers maximum effort every single time — they leave everything on the bandstand to ensure the dancers and music-lovers leave 100% satisfied. Come on out and get your groove on! This will be a mighty — and I mean mighty — good time.

All ages until 10pm! Kids under 12 free.

TREEHOUSE – Back to School Supply Drive

Please bring your donations to the club for children heading back to school this fall ages pre-school all the way to 12th grade.
We’ll deliver them to Treehouse from the Mother Aerie, check in with the bartender for more information on how you can send kids in foster care in your community back to school with everything they need to succeed.
We’ll take any supplies, coats, new clothing, backpacks, shoes, accessories, and monetary donations to pay for school activities, yearbooks, and graduation caps & gowns for our students.

Treehouse-Logo2Treehouse provides foster kids with academic and other essential support to help them graduate high school with a plan for their future.

Our “home” needs some TLC

Thank to all who have reached out to donate their time! We appreciate it!
As an all-volunteer club, we rely on our membership to step up and share their skills, talents and a little bit of their time to help keep our building looking nice and welcoming for our members and visitors.

No matter what skill you have, from highly technical to grunt labor, we can use it all!  We are also very open if an individual or group wants to take on an area or a task on a regular basis….that would be awesome!
We’ll be dividing the overall tasks that need to be done into smaller projects and get things done little by little. We’ll be posting the projects and skills needed, here and in the club.  Stay tuned!

Dan Kerege and Katie Numair will be coordinating the projects.
Contact them through motheraerie@gmail.com or leave your info at the bar!

Ace of Clubs at the #1

Ace_of_clubs

Hello all…

Due to Washington State gambling requirements,  we have recently revised our “Ace of Clubs” game at your Eagles #1.  This game is very similar to the well known ‘Queen of Hearts‘ game you’ve seen elsewhere.

If you don’t know about it, here’s how it works:

  • You must be an Aerie #1 or Auxiliary #1 member to play.
  • Tickets will only be sold on Sunday, the day of the drawing. They’re $1 per ticket.
  • The pot for the drawing will be posted next to the game board.  That’s the pot you will win if you choose the Ace of Clubs card
  • The drawing is at 5:15 pm.  We stop selling tickets at 5pm.
  • You MUST be present to win.
  • if your ticket is drawn, you pick one of the available card envelopes.
  • if the card is the Ace of Clubs – you win the pot!
  • If you choose any other card, you win $5.

If you don’t play, you can’t win…  and we have $3 angus burger baskets from 3:00-6:00 and the rest of Sunday-Funday action.

Summer Update

Summer Update

Hello Eagles,

Here are a couple of updates and a correction:

  • This Summer we will have Taco Wednesdays on Aerie Meeting nights – the first and third Wednesdays of each month.
    • This week is not a meeting night, so no tacos this Wednesday the 29th
  • Potato Tuesday will continue but will not be available next Tuesday, July 5th – the cooks are out of town.
  • A minor correction to last weeks’ newsletter regarding the Ace of Clubs:
    • The pot for the drawing will be posted next to the game board.  That’s the pot you will win if you choose the Ace of Clubs card
    • If you choose any other card, you win $5
    • Tickets will only be sold the day of the drawing.  This makes sense since you need to be there to win anyways.

And don’t forget…
As it gets hot out, remember: your club is air conditioned and has great drinks, food and fun so stop in during the summer.  Happy hour is 4-7pm Monday thru Saturday, and Sunday has great all day prices and 2 for 1 burgers!

Fundraiser for Randy Wans

The Aerie No.1 Officers are sponsoring a spaghetti dinner to raise funds for Randy Wans, our Worthy Chaplain, hospitalized for cancer treatment.

Please join us on Saturday March 19th 6:00-8:00pm.  $10 minimum donation.

A silent auction will follow at 9:00pm.

For those who cannot make it, we have put donation jars in the social room.  Thank you.

If you made a resolution to give your time, the Eagles can always use some help, especially on Sundays!

As we continue to add events and nights with food available we need extra hands in the kitchen. We’d be happy to train you and know you’ll enjoy yourself! As an all volunteer club, thanks for helping where you can! Food Handlers Permits can be obtained here. If the $10 fee for a permit is the barrier to helping in the kitchen, let us know!
